Board of Directors

Joshua Larkin
President
We became a part of the Hutch Kids community in July 2021 when our daughter (Ravenna -18 months) joined. We are very excited to be a part of this amazing community. My wife and I are both from Western Washington originally, having met at the University of Washington where we bonded over our love of Husky Football. I joined Fred Hutch in November 2019 after working for the Allen Institute for Brain Science for four years and spending two years at the University of British Columbia studying Neuroscience. I serve as a Lab Data Project Manager at SCHARP, a part of the Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division department of Fred Hutch. In my position, I focus on process improvement and facilitating effective communication across many stakeholders. I am looking forward to bringing that expertise to the Hutch Kids Board and trying to make a positive impact in whatever way I can. Outside of work, I enjoy reading and writing fiction, and studying history. Our family loves hiking, camping, visiting with friends and family, playing with our dog Tuck and the Seattle Sounders (and Seattle sports in general).

Denise McCulloch
Vice President
I joined Fred Hutch in October 2022 as an Assistant Professor in the Vaccine and Infectious Diseases Division, where my work combines patient care, research, and administrative responsibilities. In my role on the Hutch Kids board, I hope to support the organization in its mission to provide high quality early education in a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.

Simran Ghuman
Treasurer
I joined the Hutch Kids community in late 2022 when my son (Hukum) enrolled in the Starfish classroom. I had heard amazing things about Hutch Kids from colleagues and was very excited that we would have an opportunity to be a part of this community. I was born and raised in northern California, went to pharmacy school in Boston, and moved to Seattle in 2014. I joined Fred Hutch in 2017 and currently serve as the Medication Safety Officer. My role encompasses quality improvement, facilitating multidisciplinary change and effective collaboration to provide the safest possible care at Fred Hutch while balancing efficiency in operations. I hope to bring my unique perspective and experience to the Hutch Kids Board while helping build a sustainable future. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my family, creating pottery, baking, and doing renovation projects with my husband.
Through my work I have experience with managing a research team, managing funding/budgets, and analyzing and interpreting complex problems to find solutions or paths forward. I look forward to applying these skills as a member of the Hutch Kids Board. I hope that I may be an asset to help continue the amazing care provided by Hutch Kids. Outside of work and my other responsibilities, I enjoy golfing, bicycling, enjoying the great outdoors, and spending time with my family.

Tiffany Go
Secretary
I joined the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center community in 2016 and have served as the Health Equity Program Manager since 2021. I initially heard of the amazing curriculum and teachers at Hutch Kids in 2017 from patients and caregivers whose children attended there, and their positive experiences have left a lasting impression on me.
As Health Equity Program Manager, I lead and advise on projects that identify and address disparities within our patient population. I approach this work utilizing an anti-racist lens, social justice framework, quality improvement methodology, and centered on the patient experience. As a parent to a toddler growing up in a cross-cultural home, I’m extremely passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in early childhood learning. I hope my skills and experiences will continue to strengthen and grow the amazing mission at Hutch Kids.

Brittani Clay
My name is Brittani Clay, and I am the Nurse Manager at our Fred Hutch at UWMC-NW Regional site location. I am a Seattle transplant, growing up on the East coast ( NE and Florida) before moving to the PNW in 2016. I’m a proud graduate of the University of Florida ( Go Gators!) and look forward to college football every fall. My husband Evan, 17-month-old son Felix and our two dogs and one cat love it here! We enjoy all that the PNW has to offer- hiking in the mountains, playing by the beaches and road-tripping on weekends. Another fun fact about me is that both of our dogs are show dogs. Our older boy Jack (11) is happily retired on the couch and our other boy Wallace (5) went to Westminster this year. I have found such a supportive community in the SCCA now Fred Hutch family and look forward to learning more about Hutch Kids and serving during my upcoming term.

Anisha Arvind
I work as a Director – Credit Portfolio Manager for a French Investment Bank and was based in NYC for 11 years. I moved in 2023 to Seattle to join my spouse, Rasi, who is a PI at Fred Hutch in the Basic Sciences Division.
My son has been attending Hutch Kids since he was 3 months old. Being a new transplant to Seattle, I have been blown away by the excellent care and passion of the Hutch Kids staff. The immediate warmth, support and camaraderie that I have experienced interacting with the teachers and fellow parents is my motivation for joining the Board. Being a full time working mom, I cannot overstate how vital on site childcare like Hutch Kids is and I wish to positively contribute and give back to this wonderful community.

Lauren Brady
I joined Fred Hutch in 2018, and in my current role serve as the
Scientific Program Manager for the Stuart and Molly Sloan Precision
Oncology Institute. Our family joined Hutch Kids in October 2023 when
a space became available in Ducklings. The experience at Hutch Kids
has been an incredible one thus far, one that has enriched our family
and provided our son a safe place to be curious and explore, seeing the
world through different lenses. I would love to join the Board to help in
any way I can to enable the future of Hutch Kids for many other
families, and to support the wonderful teachers and staff who make it
such a special place for learning.

Tiffany Townsend
I’m a mother, wife, healthcare leader, and community advocate with a strong commitment to equality, inclusion, and meaningful service. My professional journey started as a flight attendant while supporting my grandmother during her cancer treatment. An experience that opened my eyes to the deep disparities in healthcare and inspired me to enter the medical field.
I became a Certified Medical Assistant, transitioned to a Licensed Practical Nurse, and then continued to grow in healthcare by earning my degree in Healthcare Administration. Since then, I’ve held both clinical and operational leadership roles. I’m currently the Program Manager for Patient Relations at Fred Hutch, where I lead efforts to ensure all patients receive respectful, equitable care and that we have continued process improvement to stay patient-centered.
My work has included nursing, managing patient care, and being actively involved in equity, inclusion, quality process improvement, project management, and working across departments to build stronger systems.
Outside of work, I’ve always stayed involved in my community. I’ve served in leadership roles in PTAs, booster clubs, school and church programs, and youth advocacy. I truly understand the needs of families and communities, and I believe deeply in the power of representation and servant leadership.
Whether I’m advocating for underserved patients or helping create spaces where children are seen, celebrated, and supported, I bring impact, integrity, and a focus on sustainable growth. I use my voice and lived experience to help build inclusive, compassionate, and effective systems. Values I’ve carried into every clinic, exam room, classroom, and boardroom I’ve been part of.

Danielle Kirkey
Hello, my name is Danielle Kirkey and I am Pediatric Oncologist at Seattle Children’s Hospital and a Physician-Scientist at Fred Hutch Cancer Center focused on developing new therapies for patients with high-risk leukemia. My husband, Matt, and I have two beautiful children (Sloane- age 3 at Hutch Kids and Owen- age 6) and we live in Seattle. I am originally from northern California (San Francisco Bay Area) but have lived across the country for my medical training. We moved to Seattle in 2020 for my Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship and have fallen in love with the PNW! In my free time, I love to spend time with my family hiking and exploring the incredible PNW outdoors. I also love to travel, try new restaurants and have recently started gardening. I look forward to bringing my enthusiasm, passion for child development/growth and unique perspective as a physician mom to the Hutch Kids Board of Directors.

Joseph Riggs
Joseph Riggs (he/him/his) is the Vice President of Radiation Oncology at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. He joined the FHCC team in February 2023 and oversees the Radiation Oncology service line across the Fred Hutch and University of Washington radiation treatment center locations.
Joseph received a master’s degree in Health Systems Administration (MHSA) from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., and completed his Administrative Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, MD. He has over 10+ years in ambulatory operations management and served as the Enterprise Administrator of the Radiation Oncology department at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA.

Aimée Olivier
I joined the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center community in the office of the CFO at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in 2015. Even as a new hire, I recall hearing wonderful things about Hutch Kids and my respect for the program has only grown over my time here. I know many colleagues and friends who have been and are eager for their children to attend this amazing program.
Currently, I serve the Fred Hutch organization as the Director of Corporate Risk Management. Risk management is a holistic practice that involves understanding and optimizing the complex and interdependent relationships between people, processes, and organizational objectives. Finding alignment across and among those facets is an endlessly engaging and rewarding experience, and I am delighted to share my skills and experience with the Board of Directors for Hutch Kids. Additionally, education has always been an important part of my life and one that I have been involved with as long as I can remember – my mother was a teacher who finished her career as an elementary school principal. I witnessed firsthand how the investment in early childhood education pays dividends in the lives of families, communities, and the world.

Kristen Johnson
I joined Fred Hutch in 2021 as a Staff Scientist in the Clinical Research Division. I completed my PhD at Notre Dame and my postdoctoral studies at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where I studied the properties of membrane-binding proteins and how lipid organization controls signaling within our cells. In 2021, my husband’s job brought us to Seattle. This move gave me the opportunity to leap from basic science to clinical research, a leap I had long wanted to make with the goal of performing research that will translate into a cure. I have a strong desire to perform research that will ultimately improve patient lives and believe that research at Fred Hutch is the perfect environment to do so.
I joined the Hutch Kids community in 2023 when my daughter, Finley, joined the Dolphin classroom. I am continuously impressed with the wonderful teachers and staff at Hutch Kids and the positive impact they have on my daughter’s growth and development. I hope that my involvement in the Hutch Kids Board of Directors will help to maintain and grow the mission of Hutch Kids. I feel lucky to be a member of the Hutch Kids community and thankful for the opportunity to give back to the organization that has given my daughter so much.

Amitabha “Guppy” Gupta
I have been a part of the Fred Hutch community in both lab-based and admin roles since 2012. I now serve as the Scientific Content Strategist for the Philanthropy department. Over the years I have seen the critical role Hutch Kids has played in the science that happens here and in the lives of the kids of many friends who went here. I was lucky enough to join the Hutch Kids parent community in 2018 when my daughter Noelle started as a Duckling and has grown into an amazing soon-to-be Rainforest. The importance of the curriculum and care at Hutch Kids cannot be overstated in all of this. I have been inspired to help Hutch Kids as it shepherds the next generation while also playing a critical role in providing childcare to the community, particularly in aiding the retention of women and BIPOC folx in science. I hope to bring an anti-racist lens as well as my strategic and communications skills to bear in this role.

Rachel Galbraith
I have been part of the Fred Hutch community for 15 years, currently supporting translational research infrastructure & operations. In my work I focus on community and coalition building to tackle persistent, complex challenges. My team and I develop innovative solutions which enhance collaborative scientific efforts and reduce barriers slowing translational research to improve cancer prevention, treatment, and detection.
I’ve been fortunate to be part of the Hutch Kids community for the past 4 (and the next 4). Hutch Kids provides unbelievably amazing care to both my kids, and to our family. We love sharing in the challenges of parenting and learning from the incredible teachers and support staff. Having access to what I consider the best childcare possible, where my kids are cared for, their sense of self and community cultivated, and where they learn in an environment with shared values to my own, is a sincere privilege. I would like to do anything I can do to give back to this community.

Mike Hill
My family has been a part of the Hutch Kids community since 2023. We have been continually impressed and grateful for the dedication, warmth, and excellence of the teachers and staff. My children have flourished under their relationship-based care that nurtures and supports their individuality. As a parent in a multicultural home, I am passionate about ensuring my children grow up with meaningful and enriching experiences like those we have found at Hutch Kids.
Professionally, I am a technical program manager with a background in information systems, high energy lasers, virtual reality technology, and space hardware. I am eager to bring that experience to support the vital mission of Hutch Kids across the community.
