Parent Involvement

Parent-Teacher Committee

The Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) is a standing committee formed of parents and teachers with the intent of building, supporting and leading a successful home-school partnership at Hutch Kids. We offer a platform for families and staff from different classrooms and age-levels to come together for the betterment of Hutch Kids.We cultivate involvement through specific activities that celebrate community and children and raise funds to support our community events and targeted areas for program improvement.

At least one parent from each classroom serves on the Parent-Teacher Committee as the Room Parent, ensuring that important information is relayed to the other families in the classroom. Often, two parents will share the job as Co-Room Parents.

The PTC meets monthly via Zoom on the third Tuesday of each month from 12pm-1pm.

Lunch and Learn Parent Education Program

On a monthly basis, with the exception of June and July, we invite parents to a virtual lunchtime presentation by community or staff experts on issues related to child development, early childhood education, and parenting and family life. Past topics include: speech and language development, feeding and nutrition for young children, positive discipline, and kindergarten readiness.
